Washington DC Region
There is quite a few chances for upsets in this region and I think some will happen.
UConn over Albany
At least the Great Danes made the tournament for the first time in their history.
Kentucky over UAB
Both teams have a lot of holes and UAB did beat Kentucky in a 9-1 match up two years ago but I like the Wildcats here. This Kentucky team went to the Elite 8 last year and still has most of the team intact.
Utah St. over Washington
The Huskies have been all over the map all season while Utah St. just keeps winning games no matter what conference they are in.
Michigan St. over George Mason
The Spartans have 3 future NBA players and went to the Final Four last year. George Mason's best win is at Wichita St.
UNC over Murray St.
Tyler Hansbrough is a monster and Murray St. probably won't have an answer for him. The Racers should keep it pretty close but North Carolina will win a game this year.
Seton Hall over Wichita St.
The Pirates have showed up when it matters this year except against Duke and UConn which has happened to a lot of teams.
Winthrop over Tennessee
The Eagles have been to the dance 6 of the past 8 years and should have been higher than a 15 seed. Tennessee hasn't been to the dance in a long time and should have been a 4 seed. Looking at it like a 4-13 match up an upset becomes much more likely. Winthrop can run with Tennessee and should grab a lot more rebounds than them. Bruce Pearl is still coach of the year but his UW-Milwaukee team was better last year.
UConn over Kentucky
Kentucky has been too erratic this year to give the Huskies a serious challenge but if UConn doesn't show up and Kentucky is on fire, they might keep it close.
Illinois over Utah St.
Brown and Augustine are enough to get to the Sweet 16.
Michigan St. over UNC
I'll take the experience of the Spartans over the youth of the Tar Heels. The Tar Heels can win this game which would be to get Paul Davis in foul trouble something that is not that hard and letting Hansbrough run amok inside.
Seton Hall over Winthrop
The Pirates could easily lose to Winthrop but I like Seton Hall to win here.
UConn over Illinois
Illinois just doesn't have the manpower to stay with UConn.
Michigan St. over Seton Hall
Seton Hall's magical run will come to an end here and it won't even be close.
UConn over Michigan St.
This will be a great game and Izzo will have his guys ready to play. The Spartans have the guys to stay with UConn and the Huskies have guys who might disappear in a game this big.
